Learning Intention: Students will be able to create an interactive project in Scratch by combining sprites, backdrops, and code blocks (events, sequences, loops, conditionals, and variables), and will test and share their work.
Success Criteria:
I can log in to Scratch and navigate the editor (Stage, Sprites, Blocks, Costumes, and Sounds).
I can add or draw a sprite and choose a backdrop for my project.
I can use events (e.g., “when green flag clicked,” “when key pressed”) to start my code.
I can build sequences that move or animate sprites (Motion/Looks/Sound blocks).
I can use loops (repeat/forever) to control repeating actions.
I can use conditionals (if/if-else) to make the project respond to inputs or conditions.
I can create and use a variable (or list) to track information (e.g., score, timer).
I can broadcast and receive messages to coordinate actions between sprites.
I can use x/y coordinates and sensing blocks to detect collisions or inputs.
I can test, debug, and comment my code so others can understand it.
I can save my project and share it on Scratch with a clear title and instructions.
